Zoo brasov

Experience the Animal Kingdom Like Never Before at Romania's Only Interactive Zoo

The company

Zoo Brasov is a must-see attraction for everyone who wants to explore the heart of Transylvania. The park hosts over 400 animals from 70+ species and offers a lot of creative activities that engage and educate guests.

The zoo wanted to do something special for visitors, to get people closer to animals and to showcase wildlife in its natural habitat. Ultimately, they wanted to have a vivid experience that educates, inspires, and entertains.

The product

We helped Zoo Brasov install interactive multimedia exhibits in each animal house to create a unique and engaging experience for visitors. The platform showcases the animals and their various activities, providing a better understanding of their characteristics and habitat. The fun and interactive exhibits cater to both children and adults, ensuring that visitors are engaged with the facility even after leaving.

The team

The team at Inowize was responsible for the project conducted in collaboration with the zoo directing team. As a member of their team, I conducted interviews as well as design research to ensure the messaging was clear and consistent. This proved essential to ensure that our results were implemented correctly. We not only made sure that this process stayed accurate but also made sure we were able to roll out a seamless design interface that radiated the clean appearance from start to finish.

the idea

We wanted to create personalised content that is easily adapted to each customer, as well as simplifying visitor journey. In order to do so we examined how technology can help visitors understand the message much better while encouraging them to engage with technology.

The app flow is easy and intuitive, making it suitable for all ages. Moreover, the number of clicks the user has to make is limited, while the app screen is larger than a computer’s, providing easy navigation and a stress-free digital environment for the user..

The app has seven main pages and is adaptable to all devices. The arrangement was determined by how visitors would explore the Zoo and its order from right to left (animal species, games followed by educational modules). Moreover, the buttons are placed strategically so that the visitor doesn’t click them by mistake (this is very important when designing for children).

the platform

Every multi-touch screen informs, entertains, and encourages visitors to engage with technology while controlling the customer flow in an efficient way. Whether we’re talking about the full personalizable content (according to the business’ needs) or the simplified approach that offers the possibility to understand and do things at their own pace - everything boosts visitor satisfaction and determines them to return.

The system was installed in several stations throughout the zoo, allowing guests at each station to have their own individualized experience. For example, some stations allow visitors to design their own animals while others encourage guest interaction through games and quizzes.
